Deciding which college you want to go to can be an intimidating thing. There are many factors you have to consider when researching and applying for colleges such as: How close do you want to be to home? How much is tuition? What's the area like? What are the local job opportunities? etc. You're preparing to spend the next four years of your life relatively independent for the first time and you want to choose the best fit. I feel like the Columbia College of Chicago is the best fit for me. I found out about CCOC when I logged onto http://cappex.com I did this in an attempt to help myself start looking for for potential colleges and was surprised to find so many colleges and universities. CCOC was the one that struck a cord with me though so I visited the website http://www.colum.edu/ and was astounded by how much I felt I needed to be there. They have over 120 different majors to choose from, including photography and journalism, both of which I would like double major and is in a different state so I can experience independence and live in a new setting. I did more research and found that it is one of the best art and media schools in the country as well. I want to go there because when I look at the pictures and read student profiles I feel like this is a place where I can grow, meet new people, and express myself freely. |
